The Beginning

Of publishing my book and how you can support

I have passed the beginning of the end of writing my book. I launched preorders for my first book two days ago to much built-up self-anticipation in the fanfare of my living room.

I have spent the last six months writing and completing my first manuscript of my poetry collection. Though the editing process is far from over, I realized that now my book was no longer just in my head. With preorders starting and names popping up on my screen to contribute, I quite honestly am scared. It always felt like a faraway, removed act that people will be reading my work, my confessions poured onto 149 pages, at some point. Some, I hope, will be strangers who will have never come across my writing except for some chance encounter with this article or one of my other posts promoting my book.

Aside from knowing my thoughts will be published for the world to see, I realize now that to make my published author dream happen, there is a lot more work behind the scenes. I have to raise my crowdfunding goal on Idiegogo in order to show traction and fund my promotion campaign with my publisher.

I hope for all who may read my book and you, it will be as therapeutic and loving to read as it was to write. I am continuing to illustrate and edit the book until its final release in April 2021, but for now if you would like to learn more and support by preordering, it would mean more than I could express:
